Multilingual WordPress platform development and migration
Intro:
Client: UAB ZEN.COM
Industry: Fintech
Scope: Multilingual WordPress platform development and migration
Background:
ZEN.COM is an international fintech company providing financial services in 31 European countries. It partners with global entities such as Mastercard, Visa, American Express, UnionPay, PayPal, and Paysafe, enabling a wide range of payment methods and financial services.
Challenge:
In 2022, ZEN.COM’s marketing team approached us in search of an enterprise-grade WordPress solution to replace their existing HubSpot setup. The system had to meet strict design, scalability, and localization requirements, and empower a distributed content team without technical involvement.
Objectives
Migrate the existing HubSpot website to WordPress without content or SEO loss.
Deliver a flexible content management system enabling non-technical editors to create unlimited, design-consistent pages across multiple languages.
Ensure a streamlined publishing workflow and establish a responsive support framework.
Solution:
Throughout the project, the client’s expectations evolved. Finding the right balance between the complexity and diversity of the components and their ease of use proved to be a significant challenge – one that required close collaboration and flexibility on both sides.
In the course of 8 months, we developed a WordPress platform based on custom blocks and fields, tightly aligned with ZEN.COM’s brand guidelines. The system supports multilingual content through full integration with a translation management layer, and includes 50+ reusable components to ensure design consistency and support for a variety of types of assets without restricting content structure.
To support a distributed team of editors, we implemented:
- A role-based access system tailored to ZEN.COM’s internal processes
- A real-time preview and publishing workflow
- Custom editor training and documentation
- Continuous deployment pipeline for safe updates across environments
Outcome
The new platform significantly improved the efficiency of content operations, reducing time-to-publish across multiple teams and markets. ZEN.COM gained full editorial independence. Design consistency was preserved, while flexibility and scalability were increased.
After the project was finished, we provided active support and training for a period of 24 months after which the ZEN.COM team took the website over for inhouse upkeep and growth to evolve with ZEN.COM’s growing digital presence.
